Physical and Mental Health for Student Athletes

Like a good amount of my peers I play a sport at my college and this can really have an affect on you, it can directly affect how well your doing in classes and your health in college. When I first got up to college I struggled to find a balance between giving myself social time, resting time, school time and athletic time. As an athlete you always want to be putting work in even if you don't have practices simply because you want to be the best you can, but just focusing on athletics can lead you to have more trouble. If not doing well in school you risk the chance of not being able to play whatever sport it is that you play so its important to keep your studies a priority. A good way to do this is by adopting studying techniques and seeing what works best for you while also giving yourself enough time to work on homework and projects. Still at the end of the day your a human being and your own health takes priority over everything else, if sick let your coaches and professors kn...

Mental and Physical Health for Students

When it comes to school especially college, students can be very stressed simply because of the workload and just trying to have a balanced life between social and academic. Because of this students can neglect there physical and emotional health which only affects the student negatively. The best ways i've been able to conquer this and how I have seen others conquer this is by a multitude of different ways the biggest one being staying active and still giving time to themselves to relax and go eat. College can leave students with not a lot of time left in there days so its not a bad idea to head to the gym or even go on a walk or run around campus, when it comes to eating if you have time between classes go grab a bite to eat and make sure you're getting enough meals in. At the end of the day or in the middle of the day it wouldn't be a bad idea to slow down and decompress from all the work we need to do, a good way to do this is by giving yourself time to takes naps, wat...

Tips on Mental Health for Students

Mental health is just as important as physical health and some can argue that it can be more important if your not doing well mentally then you can struggle physically. Just like before I will be giving some tips to help with mental health. Best tip that I believe everyone should take advantage of is if your struggling to get help and seek support and it doesn't need to be from a professional support comes from family, friends, instructors and other faculty, if your ever struggling its never a bad idea to get something off of your chest or get someone else's input. Tip two is take life one day at a time sure there may be a lot to do in the future but give yourself time and don't just put all your effort in one thing this can cause you to get burnt out, even if something happened in the past you have to leave it in the past you can only focus on the present and the future. No matter what keep your health the main priority through college and life so always take care of your...
